Marketing and advertising strategies
Marketing is all about how you define and promote your “product” (courses available), and how can you maintain a relationship with your “customers” (potential students). In an educational context, marketing refers to a set of activities used to get your “potential customer’s” attention and motivate them to enrol in one of the courses offered by your organisation.
A well developed and effective marketing strategy can raise the institutions perceived profile in your local community and raise the number of students taking the first step into post-compulsory education. In addition, in economic terms attracting additional students has the advantage of generating increased financial revenue, allowing the college or university to allocate more funding to resources, which in turn allows them to improve the quality of educational opportunities.
Marketing encompasses everything your institution does to “sell” its courses – not only in terms of a marketing strategy with specific activities outside your institution, but also from the way you answer the phone to the subject lines in your e-mails. This resource aims to help you get all the key components working towards one strong and effective result – promoting a wider participation in further and higher education.
