Support services available
This section contains information about various forms of student support services which may be offered in learning centres, colleges and universities across the North of Scotland. Returning to study after a break of some years or moving from a school or local college to a much larger university may seem rather daunting.
However, all colleges and universities offer some form of guidance and student support services, offering help, information and advice on any matter which may be interfering with studies, including assistance with difficulty with course or programme of study, financial matters, health and welfare, relationship or personal issues or support with additional needs associated with disability or medical conditions.
Even when potential students are just considering the possibility of starting a course, you should be able to inform them of the support offered to students by your organisation, as this may influence their decision, particularly if it concerns something they may need, such as advice with funding opportunities or childcare provision. Being fully aware of what your institution has to offer in terms of student support is likely to increase their confidence in your organisation and encourage them to initiate their academic career.
